Dental Veneers

What are Dental Veneers?

Dental Veneers are tooth-coloured covers or facings bonded to the front of your teeth. Veneers are traditionally made of either composite resin or porcelain (ceramic). With regular dental checkup & clean, and good oral care, they can last you many years.

What are the benefits of Veneers?

  • Make teeth look natural, whiter and more attractive
  • Protect teeth from damage
  • Require little to no preparation of teeth

What are the reasons for Veneers?

  • Stained or discoloured teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Chipped teeth
  • Crooked teeth
  • Misshapen teeth

How much do Dental Veneers cost?

Dental Veneers cost start from $250 per tooth. Most health funds will cover a part of this cost, depending on your level of cover. Your dentist at Midway Dental Clinic will discuss your options with you at the time of your consult.

How do Dental Veneers work?

Veneers are done in either single or multiple visits, depending on your preference.

Single visit:

  • Step 1. Shade or colour is chosen
  • Step 2. Teeth are prepared very minimally
  • Step 3. Composite resin is bonded to your teeth
  • Step 4. Veneer is finished and polished to your comfort

Multiple visits:

  • Step 1. Shade or colour is chosen
  • Step 2. Teeth are prepared very minimally
  • Step 3. A mould or impression is taken and sent to a dental lab
  • Step 4. Fully-polished porcelain (ceramic) veneers are bonded to your teeth a week later

Please note Dental Veneers may require additional visits depending on your preference.

What are the differences between Composite Resin and Ceramic Dental Veneers?

Composite Resin is a modified plastic and glass mixture. Resin is to be bonded on the same day. This also comes in different shades of white and is generally less expensive. Porcelain (Ceramic) is essentially a sintered glass, in different shades. And tends to be more durable, aesthetic and stain resistant.
