Midway Dental Clinic is a certified Platinum Invisalign Provider.
Invisalign is the latest 3D technology in teeth straightening or orthodontics, and works by a series of custom-made, clear and removable aligners which gradually move your teeth to the desired position. They are also known as invisible braces or clear braces. Invisalign is very effective in gently straightening teeth and does not stick out like the older, metal braces.
Invisalign consists of a series of clear and removable, thermoplastic aligners and white-coloured attachments bonded to your teeth. Each aligner is changed every 10-14 days and exerts a slight and controlled force upon these attachments so the teeth gradually move to the desired position.
Crowding or crooked teeth happens when there isn’t enough space in your mouth for all your teeth to fit properly. This cn cause teeth to overlap or twist which can look unattractive. It also makes it hard to clean them and leads to problems like cavities and gum disease. This is the most common reason why patients opt for Invisalign and results tend to be faster than braces.
Spacing occurs when there are gaps between teeth, often leading to issues with appearance and oral health. These gaps can happen due to various reasons, such as missing teeth, small teeth, tongue habits, or abnormal growth of the jawbone.
Narrow arches refer to a condition where the upper or lower jaw is too narrow. This can be unattractive when smiling when less teeth are shown and more of a “black corridor” is revealed . Narrow arches can also lead to crowded teeth, difficulty chewing, speech problems, and increased risk of dental problems like cavities and gum disease.
Overjet, commonly known as “buck teeth” occurs when the upper front teeth protrude significantly in front of or beyond the lower front teeth. This misalignment can affect both the appearance and function of the teeth, potentially leading to issues like eating and speech difficulties, jaw pain, and increased risk of dental damage.
Overbite is a condition where the upper front teeth excessively overlap the lower front teeth when the jaw is closed. This misalignment can lead to issues like jaw pain, speech problems, and an increased risk of dental damage.
Underbite, commonly known as reverse overjet, occurs when the lower front teeth protrude past the upper front teeth when the jaw is closed. This misalignment can cause problems with chewing, speech, and facial appearance.
A dental open bite occurs when the upper and lower teeth don’t meet properly when the jaw is closed, leaving a gap between them. This misalignment can cause issues with chewing, speech, and can even lead to jaw pain.
A dental crossbite occurs when some upper back teeth sit behind the lower back teeth when the jaw is closed. This misalignment can lead to jaw pain, difficulty chewing, and uneven tooth wear.
There is no doubt Invisalign has revolutionised how teeth are straightened. The following are some of the benefits with Invisalign treatments:
During your first visit, your dentist will be able to determine the type of Invisalign package you seem to fit. This will be confirmed in the second visit where a comprehensive and detailed simulation video, known as a ClinCheck video, will be provided to detail the Invisalign package.
i7 includes upto 7 aligners and treatment ranges from 3-5 months.
Lite includes upto 14 aligners and treatment ranges from 7-9 months.
Moderate includes upto 26 aligners and treatment ranges from 12-15 months.
Comprehensive includes an unlimited set of aligners and treatment ranges from 12-24 months.
After completing your Invisalign treatment, it’s crucial to maintain the results to prevent teeth from shifting back. Retainers play a vital role in this process. There are two main types of retainers: fixed and removable.
Both types of retainers help ensure that your teeth stay in their corrected positions, preserving your straight smile for years to come. Regular use and proper care of retainers are essential for maintaining the results of orthodontic treatment. Midway Dental Clinic includes both types of retainers and at-home ZOOM teeth whitening kits in all Invisalign packages.
When it comes to straightening teeth, many people wonder if Invisalign is better than traditional braces. Both options have their advantages, but Invisalign offers some unique benefits. Invisalign aligners are nearly invisible, making them a discreet choice for those who are concerned about the appearance of braces. They are also removable, allowing for easier cleaning and eating without restrictions on what you can consume. Additionally, Invisalign typically requires fewer visits to the dentist for adjustments compared to traditional braces.
However, traditional braces may be more suitable for complex cases or when precise control over tooth movement is needed.
Ultimately, the decision between Invisalign and traditional braces depends on individual preferences, treatment needs, and budget. Consulting with your dentist at Midway Dental Clinic can help determine which option is best for achieving your desired smile.
Midway Dental Clinic is a certified Platinum Invisalign Provider. This is awarded to clinics with an extremely high turnover of successful Invisalign cases. Dr. Rekha and her team have also trained in post-graduate orthodontic training which gives us an edge when it comes to even the most complicated of Invisalign cases.
Invisalign generally takes between 3 months and 2 years to complete depending on the case type and difficulty.
For best and effective results, it is recommended to wear Invisalign at least 20-22 hours a day, and to only remove the aligners when you are eating or brushing/flossing.
If the straightening you require is relatively simple, Invisalign can be worn for one arch only.
However, as we move teeth, we inadvertently do change the bite. Therefore, it is recommended Invisalign be worn on both arches so your dentist can control these bite changes.
The fee for Invisalign can vary depending on the dentist’s skill, experience and type of orthodontic issue. During your first consultation, your Invisalign dentist will ensure to discuss your concerns, map out a customised treatment plan and ensure you are well informed of the costs, inclusions and length of treatment.
Midway Dental Clinic offers a free consultation for all Invisalign treatments and enquiries.
