Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are tooth-coloured covers or facings bonded to the front of your teeth. Dental veneers are traditionally made of either composite resin or porcelain (ceramic). With regular checkups and good oral care, veneers can last you many years.

  • What are the benefits of dental veneers?

    • Make teeth look natural, whiter and more attractive
    • Protect teeth from damage
    • Require little to no preparation of teeth

  • What are the reasons for dental veneers?

    • Stained or discoloured teeth
    • Gaps between teeth
    • Chipped teeth
    • Crooked teeth
    • Misshapen teeth

  • How do dental veneers work?

Dental veneers can be done in either one or multiple visits depending on your preference. One visit:

    • Shade or colour is chosen
    • Teeth are prepared very minimally
    • Composite resin is bonded to your teeth
    • Veneer is finished and polished to your comfort

    Multiple visit:

    • Shade or colour is chosen
    • Teeth are prepared very minimally
    • A mould or impression is taken and sent to a dental lab
    • Fully-polished porcelain (ceramic) veneers are bonded to your teeth a week later
    • Please note dental veneers may require additional visits depending on your preference.

  • What are the differences between composite resin and ceramic dental veneers?

Composite resin is made of a modified plastic and glass mixture and can be bonded on the same day. It comes in different shades of white and is generally less expensive.

Porcelain (ceramic) is made of sintered glass. It also comes in different shades, and tends to be more durable, aesthetic and stain resistant.

  • How much do dental veneers cost?

Dental veneers start from $250 per tooth. Your dentist at Midway Dental Clinic will discuss your
options with you at the time of your consult.
