Dental Crowns

Dental Crowns

  • Dental Crowns are ceramic or metal shells designed to cover teeth in order to provide greater strength and an improved appearance.

  • What are the benefits of Dental Crowns?
    • Strengthen teeth
    • Protect teeth from damage
    • Make teeth look natural, whiter and more attractive
  • What are the reasons for dental crowns?
    • Stained, discoloured, chipped, crooked or misshapen teeth
    • Teeth with large fillings and/or decay
    • Teeth with large cracks
    • Teeth which have been root canal-treated
  • How much do dental crowns cost?
Dental Crowns start from $1,100 per tooth. Most health funds will cover a part of this cost, depending on your level of cover. Your dentist at Midway Dental Clinic will discuss your options with you at the time of your consult.
  • How do dental crowns work?

Midway Dental Clinic houses highly specialised and computerised equipment (CEREC) to provide you an easier way to crown your teeth. Dental crowns are made a little differently nowadays. Let us get you up to speed.

    Before Now
It took 2-3 appointments from start to finish. It takes only one appointment.
A manual impression for the dental crown would need to be taken which involves sticky and uncomfortable material in your mouth. A digital scan of your tooth is taken in under 1 minute.
The impression would need to be sent to a laboratory to make a dental crown. We will digitally design your crown and our CEREC machine will make it in under 10 minutes.
  • What is the difference between dental veneers and dental crowns?
A Dental Veneer is a cover or facing bonded to the front surface of your tooth only. A Dental Crown resembles a shell that covers all if not most of the surfaces of your tooth.
